Sian Joseph

After thirteen years of enjoying life in London, Siân moved to rural Surrey with her husband and two children in 2011.

Passionate about interiors for as long as she can remember, and with a new-found love of gardening, Siân is never happier than when planning the latest project for her house, rummaging around antiques shops or visiting beautiful gardens for ideas.

A keen cook and aspiring crafter as well, Siân shares her home and garden inspirations and tales of family life on her blog.

A few questions about nice things...

Who do you most admire?

My parents for their endless support and for being amazing grandparents, and people with passion and talent who use it wisely.

What are your favourite possessions?

Photos of my family and friends, my watch (a present from my parents for getting into university, which I still wear every day), and the mix tape that my husband made for me soon after we met.

Tell us about your perfect day or weekend...

It would be a sunny day and I’d be up long before anyone else in the house so that I could enjoy a mug of tea in peace whilst curled up in the armchair in the kitchen. After a delicious breakfast of Eggs Benedict we’d go for a family walk to take in our favourite views over the local countryside. After that, good friends and their kids would descend and we’d sit outside in the garden eating, drinking and chatting late into the evening.

What makes you happiest?

Laughing with my husband and kids, catching up with my friends, sunny days with plenty of time on my hands to enjoy them, and cosy evenings by the fire.

What would you like to do in the future?

I’d like to see all of the ideas for our house and garden come together (on, or under, budget if possible!), to continue writing my blog and see where that takes me, and to have lots of adventures with my family.
